 Travelling to Indochina, visitors can soak up the natural destinations in Laos such as Khong Lor Caves, Kuang Si waterfalls, Khone Phanpheng or Khoun Kong Leng lake.

Khong Lor Cave: about 8 km long, Khong Lor is famous for its underground riverwhich is up to 20 m wide. The caves’ roof is over 50 m from the river. Guests can enjoy cruising to visit the beautiful corners inside the cave. Besides vast size, Khong Lor also makes travellers overwhelmed because of massivestalactites, stone bell, stalagmites.

Natural Destinations in Laos

Kuang Si Falls: Visit the ancient capital of Luang Prabang without a Kuang Si waterfall tour is a flaw. Big waterfall flows down creating many lakes. Guests can swim in the turquoisewaters. Kuang Si waterfall flows year round, but it’s less water during March to May.

Mekong River: The Mekong, 4,350 km long, is the longest river in Southeast Asia. From China, the river flows through Myanmar (Burma), the Land of a Million Elephants – Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. In Laos, many luxury cruises offer exploration along the river and that’s a good choice for visitors to enjoy a leisure trip.

Khone Phanpheng: Moving on the southern of Don Khong, the right of the Mekong River, visitors can admire the scenery of KhonePhapheng. In the rainy season, high water level causes the falls to expand more than 10 km. Travelers should visit it in the dry season because they can admire the beauty of the water gradually withdrawing.

Nam Ou Canyon: Dubbed the Grand Canyon of Lao, Nam Ou gives tourists a different trip on the river from Phongsaly province to Luang Prabang through the 448-km trip. Two riversidesare the scene of the imposing cliffs interspersed with fertile villages. Nam Ou is also the place where over 84 species of fish living. Among them, 29 unique species in the world can only live here. In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to visit Pak Ou Caves, famous for the Buddha statue.

Tat Somphamit Waterfall: also known as Li Phi. It is believed that this is where the evil souls of people and animal are trapped. Besides the spiritual sense, this 1.5 km of the river is very dramatic and beautiful. The waterfall is about 800m from the bridge connecting the two islands Don Det and Don Khon. Best time to admire the waterfall is after the rainy season.

Khoun Kong Leng Lake: the lake is about 30 km north of Thakhek town, Khammouane Province, with blue and crystal clearwatercolor. The water originates from an underground river which is filtered through the limestone layers around the mountain. Near the viaduct, visitors are allowed to bath and swim. In addition, you can take relaxing walk on the forest trail.

Nam Et Phou Louey National Biological Reserve: Located in the northeast of Laos, this is conservation area of a wide variety of rare animals in danger, such as Sambar deer, tiger, bison, white-cheeked gibbon,… Nam Et Phou Louey is about 4229 km2 covering three provinces. Nam Nern Night Safari in the reserve offers interesting activities such as bird watching, wild animal tracking at night, medicinal plants exploring or hiking.
